Laura Steckler

Firm Value:

Growing up in a single-parent working class home in Brooklyn New York, I saw how a lack of planning and guidance can negatively affect a family due to divorce.  These early experiences and lessons transformed into a deep professional passion to help individuals, couples, and families transitioning into and through divorce. One of my goals is to provide an atypically high level of personalized service, expertise, and support for people during this challenging emotional and financial process. My dedicated team and I focus on analyzing the pre-divorce financial picture and projecting the long term effects of various settlement scenarios on the post-divorce lifestyle.  I provide valuable information and develop and implement actionable strategies on financial issues that are related to the divorce, such as tax consequences, dividing pension plans, continued health care coverage, stock option elections, pre and post retirement budgeting, income planning, and future risk management needs.  In essence, I take a comprehensive approach to financial planning both pre and post-divorce in order to help clients achieve their goals and have a solid sense of well-being and independence.

I joined Raymond James in 2006 and currently hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST, CERTIFIED ESTATE PLANNER™ and CERTIFICATION IN LONG TERM CARE (CLTC®) designations.  Through my role as the Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Investments at Steckler Wealth Management Group at Raymond James and Associates, I am directly responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of clients comprehensive financial planning. I am heavily involved in all investment, insurance, retirement, tax, and estate planning.

I am very active in my community and am passionate about working with indigent seniors, women’s organizations, and financial literacy for kids.  I also enjoy being a mentor to individuals both in and out of the financial services industry. I am married and have two children, Gavin and Addison.
