Membership in Collaborative Family law Institute (CFLI)

CFLI membership is open to licensed Florida attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial professionals. Our members form a professional community that works together to educate others about the use of the Collaborative Process and to develop and remain skilled in current trends and techniques to help families resolve their differences. CFLI is led through an interdisciplinary board of directors and board committees that pursue the goals and objectives of the Institute.

The Collaborative Family Law Institute is a community of attorneys specializing in family law, neutral financial professionals and mental health professionals who work together to help couples to divorce respectfully. Members practice with the highest degree of professionalism and maintain best practices and ethical standards for the Collaborative Law Process. CFLI membership is open to licensed Florida attorneys, mental health professionals and financial professionals.

Our members make a difference

CFLI is an organization which offers opportunities for professionals with varying interests. Members can become educated on interdisciplinary issues involving Collaborative Divorce, participate in the Speakers’ Bureau, network with other CFLI members, or write articles. Here are suggestions on how to become active within CFLI:

Participate in monthly POD meetings – There are opportunities to network in smaller settings with other Collaborative Professionals and engage in discussions regarding topics that affect the practice of Collaborative Divorce.
Join a CFLI committee –Ideas can make a difference and members are encouraged to join and participate in various committees and to enhance CFLI.
Speak with professionals –Dialogue with experienced professionals about Collaborative Divorce movement, educational opportunities, or practical “how to” questions.
Share your ideas – Serve as a community speaker or write articles.
Get educated and build your skills –Participate in CFLI-sponsored continuing education activities.
Be seen – Participate in our quarterly General Meetings, POD meetings and events.

*CFLI dues are $100 if individual has a primary membership in another local practice group

How to become a member:

Our dues vary for attorneys, certified mediators, financial professionals and mental health professionals. The dues are due on January 1st of each year and for the first year will be prorated. All approved applicants will be required to participate in a Collaborative training. If you are approved for membership you agree to comply with the CFLI’s By-Laws, attend CFLI general meetings, and POD meetings, meet continuing education training requirements, participate on committees and remain current in the payment of dues.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must hold appropriate certificate or license in their listed profession
Must provide at least two professional references
Must be committed to the practice of collaborative divorce
