Debra Tyler and Associates came about as a result of the 40 years of experience in the financial services industry and recognizing the need to assist clients with navigating the ever-changing landscape of banking and finance. We provide strategic direction to clients who have difficulty finding the time to devote to their banking and financing needs. We evaluate the current banking relationships, analyze the services being utilized, manage the implementation of new products or services for banking efficiencies. We also review loan structure and terms as well as facilitate the introduction to the most appropriate financing service provider for all lending needs. Additionally, we act as the liaison to accountants, attorneys, and other professional service providers as needed.
Debra’s experience in banking, finance, and investment management encompasses Commercial and Consumer Lending, Retail Branch Management, Investment Management, and Private Wealth Management. Most of her career, 32 years, was spent with SunTrust Bank in various capacities with her last position being the SVP & Managing Director of the Private Wealth Division in Miami.
For the past 6 years she represented Bank OZK as the President, South Florida Region, and most recently was the President of the Professional Practice Group (PPG) and was responsible for managing the growth and development of the PPG line of business. That responsibility focused on the development of PPG client relationships with professionals that include law firms, title companies, CPA’s, medical practitioners, architects, engineers, and all other business professionals. Services include depository, treasury management, commercial and consumer lending, and Trust and Wealth management.
Debra is a native of Miami, Florida and attended both Miami Dade College and the University of Miami. She is currently the agency Co-Chair of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. She has also been recognized as the Rookie board member of the Year in 2018. She has been a Big Sister for the past 14 years. Debra is a past board member of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and was a finalist in the AXA Business Women of the Year, Outstanding Corporate Leader, in 2019. She has also served as a past committee member for the Power of the Purse and Raise the Bar fundraising initiatives for the Women’s Fund of Miami Dade. She was also the Treasurer of the United WAG organization from 2005 to 2015 which is an animal advocacy group in Coconut Grove Florida.
She currently maintains her securities licenses series 7, 63, 65, and 24 registrations, as well as formally holding the Florida Life and Variable Annuity license. She is also a graduate of the Florida Banker’s Trust School.
She embraces cultural diversity, enjoys the arts and sports, scuba diving, and supports any mentorship, animal advocacy and rescue organizations.
